I needed to create this program because there are SO MANY fad diets on the market that are simply unfair to us. They have us obsessing over calories, grams and macros, and spending an unrealistic amount of time in the gym every week. They have the best of intentions but they leave us feeling like more of a failure when we've learned nothing about ourselves and we've run out of the willpower to maintain the rules. These programs exist in a vacuum, they don't have our busy lifestyle in mind and they and give us zero autonomy to be an active participant in our results, which I believe is a linchpin for sustained success.

For much of my life, I've had a disordered relationship with food and exercise. I've been either dedicated and training hard or completely off the rails. In the past, I've much preferred all-in restrictive programs but I couldn't see how in doing so, I was self-sabatoging over and over. My friends came to know my alter-egos, the Go-For-It Over-Indulger or the No-Nonesense Dedicated Debbie-Downer.
I held my ability to follow the rules as a security blanket as it meant I would never, ever let myself get out of control. Until I did. I was postpartum with my second child, under inordinate stress at work, nursing a baby through all hours of the night and wrought with mom-guilt for prioritizing my career. I'd start a diet every Monday and fail by sundown. I couldn't see where my dedication |
could exist in my busy lifestyle, so for 15 months, I had essentially resigned myself to staying stuck in a body I hated and didn't take care of. I finally became fed up with that story and hopped off the couch to ask my husband to take my before pictures. This time, I had to do things differently. I had to apply the training and nutrition knowledge that I had, but in a way that made sense for my incredibly busy lifestyle. I traded long-duration cardio for short-intense exercise and I stopped the all-or-nothing attitude towards food. I learned about biofeedback cues to stop following diets and start eating for my own individualized fat loss. I reshaped my body and healed my relationship with food and exercise. And, I continue to sustain this way of living amongst a busy life with two little boys and running a business.

"This program was far and away the most rewarding and manageable program to follow. Working a full time job, with occasional travel, and a four year old and a two year old leaves limited ‘me’ time. I was always a big runner but that was very time consuming and getting up before 5 was exhausting! I would 'try' weights but was never really sure if I was doing them correctly. Being able to get in great workouts in 20 minutes was key for me…and not having to get up as early in the morning and even sneaking a work out in between work and picking the kids up was a HUGE benefit. I was 'clean eating' and making more of a focus on reading the ingredients on what I was eating / incorporating a lot more fiber and veggies and less starch into my meals. I also have been trying to do 'easy swaps' like Ezekiel bread and kale chips instead of Tostitos. The Facebook page was also great for motivation and idea's from others woman that are doing the program. So happy to be a part of it! I felt stronger and healthier after the program and was happy to be down 6 pounds without feeling like I was hungry and missing out on things!" |

I was unhappy with the changes that were happening to my body as I entered 52 years. I thought I had made necessary adjustments to my diet, but nothing was working and I was gaining weight and not just some weight but, 10 lbs in 9 months. It was also difficult to fully change my eating habits because I am not the primary grocery shopper / food preparer in my home...my husband enjoys those responsibilities. I asked my family if they would commit to 4 weeks of healthier eating and exercise and they agreed. With Jessica's lead to a better understanding of how strength training positively affect our metabolism, I was able to change my diet. Her recipes were eye-opening and delicious. I was able to incorporate exercise daily without taking time away from family needs. At the end of the 4 weeks, my husband actually wanted to continue the new healthier eating! As a busy mom working full time at a high-stress, corporate job, finding time to take care of myself was a daily challenge, and something that never took priority. Add working an opposite schedule from my husband to the mix, and me-time seemed impossible. After many discouraging attempts to find an effective workout that I was actually able to stick to and work into my schedule, along came this fantastic 6 week program. Finally, something that worked for me! Having the option to choose a 5 or 15 minute workout meant that there was time. Every day. And to make things even easier, there are workout options that don’t require any equipment so they can be done anytime, anywhere.
